Srinagar, July 11 -- Srinagar- A husband and wife sustained burn injuries after a cooking gas leak triggered a fire incident at their residence in the Bogam area of Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Saturday.

The injured were initially taken to District Hospital Kulgam and later referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for specialized treatment.

The injured have been identified as Abdul Rahman Ganaie (45), son of Abdul Gani, and his wife Masooda (40), residents of Bogam, Kulgam.

Hospital sources said both patients were admitted to SMHS Hospital with burn injuries. Their condition is stated to be stable.

The incident is reported to have occurred due to leakage of cooking gas inside the house. [KNT]
