Srinagar, July 8 -- Srinagar- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday reviewed the situation arising from heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir and assured the Union Territory of all possible assistance from the Centre.

Shah spoke to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and took stock of the weather-related situation as heavy rains and flash floods affected parts of the Union Territory, officials said.

The Home Minister assured Abdullah of every possible assistance from the Centre to deal with any challenges arising from the rains.

The review came as flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall struck the upper reaches of Thathri town in Doda district, partially damaging several houses, shops and vehicles.
