Srinagar, July 2 -- Jammu- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday called for transforming schools into "laboratories of life-building", saying the true purpose of education lies not in examination results but in its ability to change lives and prepare students to face the challenges of the modern world.

Addressing a one-day Capacity Building Programme jointly organised by the Bharti Airtel Foundation, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), J&K, and the School Education Department, the Lieutenant Governor said empowering teachers was the key to building confident students and a resilient society.
