Rs 2.47 Cr Chenab Flood Protection Project Launched
Srinagar, June 9 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday launched a Rs 2.47 crore flood protection project at Fattu Kotli near Jammu to strengthen the left bank of the Chenab River and safeguard vulnerable areas from erosion and flood-related damage.
Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ahmed Rana laid the foundation stone for the restoration and construction works, which are aimed at improving riverbank stability and enhancing flood resilience in the area on the outskirts of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana said strengthening flood management infrastructure remains a top priority for the government, particularly with the monsoon season approaching.
