Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- Srinagar- Jammu division is set for another spell of intense rain on Wednesday, with the Meteorological Centre forecasting heavy to very heavy showers in parts of the region and warning that torrential downpours could trigger flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas.

The forecast comes after widespread rain lashed the Jammu region over the past 24 hours, with Kathua KVK recording 156 mm, the highest rainfall in the region, followed by Jammu at 79 mm, Katra at 71 mm and Samba at 55 mm.

The weather department said one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at many places across Jammu and Kashmir on August 12. Some districts of the Jammu division may, however, receive ...
