Srinagar, Aug. 21 -- Srinagar- A 14-year-old schoolgirl died while being shifted for medical treatment in Kishtwar district after she was reportedly found pregnant, with police arresting a government school teacher in connection with the case.

According to reports, the minor from the Chatroo area was being taken towards Doda for termination of pregnancy when her condition deteriorated during the journey. She died before reaching the hospital, according to sources.

Police have registered FIR No. 34/2026 at Police Station Chatroo under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
