Srinagar, July 15 -- Srinagar- Kashmir's head priest, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Wednesday expressed anguish over the loss of civilian and police lives in the ongoing unrest across the Line of Control (LoC), particularly in Rawalakot and Poonch, and urged the Pakistan government, local authorities, and protesters to resolve differences through dialogue rather than confrontation.

In a post on X, the Mirwaiz said he was "deeply saddened and pained" by reports of deaths in the continuing unrest and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and all those affected by these tragic events," he said.
