Srinagar, July 8 -- Srinagar- Militancy is almost negligible at present in the Kashmir Valley and the situation has transformed drastically since 1990, the High Court of J&K and Ladakh observed while dismissing a petition seeking the transfer of a cheque bounce case from Srinagar to Jammu. The accused had sought the transfer, alleging a threat to his life if required to appear before the Srinagar court.

A single bench of Justice Sanjay Dhar made the observations while rejecting the transfer petition filed by Sonaullah Dar, who had sought shifting of a complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act pending before the Court of City Munsiff Srinagar to a competent court at Jammu.
