Srinagar, July 3 -- Srinagar- Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said it was an honour for her to be in Tehran to express condolences and solidarity over the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

In a post on X, Mufti said she had conveyed her "deepest condolences and solidarity" on the martyrdom of Khamenei, whom she described as "a revered leader who dared to stand against the tide and fought for the oppressed."

"It is an honour for me to be here in Tehran to express my deepest condolences and solidarity on the martyrdom of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei - a revered leader who dared to stand against the tide and fought for the oppressed," she said.

Mufti shared the remarks during her visit to Tehran.
