Srinagar, July 14 -- Srinagar- A man was injured on Tuesday after being attacked by a wild bear in Sundri village of Sawjian area in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that the injured has been identified as Mohammad. Sadiq, a resident of Sundri. According to officials, the attack took place when the bear suddenly appeared and mauled him, reported news agency GNS.

Following the incident, locals shifted the injured to PHC Sawjian for medical treatment.

Wildlife and forest officials have been informed about the incident. Authorities have advised residents in adjoining areas to remain cautious and avoid venturing into forests during early morning and evening hours, when bear sightings are common.
