Srinagar, Aug. 18 -- Srinagar- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch in Jammu and Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against a Budgam resident for allegedly attempting to influence an ongoing investigation by transferring Rs 10,000 into the bank account of an investigating officer.

The chargesheet was filed before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Srinagar, in FIR No. 28/2026 against Ghulam Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Mirgund in Budgam district, an EOW spokesperson said on Tuesday.

The accused has been booked under Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 228 and 229 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the spokesperson said.
