Srinagar, July 28 -- Srinagar- The Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up discussion on the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, ending a week-long legislative deadlock, as the government defended the proposed law while the Opposition launched a sharp attack over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and the handling of student protests.

Moving the Bill, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh said the legislation reaffirmed the government's commitment to protecting the interests of students and ensuring fair examinations.
