Srinagar, April 8 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has prorogued the Union Territory's Legislative Assembly, formally bringing the ongoing House session to an end, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a bulletin issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the order dated April 7, 2026, was issued in exercise of powers conferred under Section 18(2)(a) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
"The Lieutenant Governor has prorogued the Legislative Assembly with immediate effect," the bulletin said.
The move effectively closes the current round of legislative proceedings, setting the stage for the next session to be summoned in due course.
