Srinagar, Sept. 30 -- Srinagar- A 37-year-old labourer was found dead in the DH Pora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday, officials said.

An official said the man was found lying near the Nandimarg-Numblan road after some locals spotted the body and alerted the police.

A police team reached the spot and took the body into custody, the official said.

The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Gorsi, 37, son of Karam Din Gorsi, a resident of Dobdaban Nandimarg.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
