Srinagar, Aug. 7 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir is set to witness a fresh 10-day wet spell, with the Meteorological Department (MeT) forecasting widespread rainfall and warning of heavy to very heavy showers, flash floods, landslides and waterlogging between August 9 and 11.

The advisory came as a couple was swept away in a flash flood while attempting to cross the Kaghote nallah in Udhampur district on Friday.

Officials said Baldev Kumar (58) and his wife Maya Devi (53), both residents of Kaghote village in Udhampur, were washed away while crossing the Kaghote nallah on Friday.
