Srinagar- On Tuesday morning, scientists, university leaders and government officials gathered at the Nund Reshi Auditorium in Awantipora to confront a question with consequences far beyond the campus: How can science help frame the future of Jammu and Kashmir?

The question opened the three-day J&K Science Congress 2026 at the Islamic University of Science and Technology, where researchers presented work on emerging technologies, scientific innovation and their possible applications to the region's development.
