Kashmir's Legal Aid Push Goes Door to Door

Tabassum Qadir opened the session in Khonmoh with a question that cut straight to the point: what good is a legal right if nobody knows it exists?
As Civil Judge Senior Division and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Srinagar and Budgam, she presided over a one-day training program built to answer that question with action rather than policy language.
Dozens of paralegal volunteers filled the room, gathered under a program designed to prepare them for two initiatives running in parallel: the Mega Drive for Implementation of NALSA Schemes at the Grassroots Level, and the DAWN Scheme, a local response to drug abuse in Kashmiri communities.
