Kashmir Police Gear Up For 57-Day Amarnath Yatra
Srinagar, June 19 -- Srinagar- Ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra beginning next month, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, V.K. Birdi on Friday directed police personnel to remain vigilant and maintain a high level of operational readiness to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Chairing a briefing of zonal and sector officers deployed for the yatra, Birdi reviewed security arrangements, coordination mechanisms and operational preparedness along the pilgrimage routes, a police spokesperson said.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including the DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG South Kashmir Range, DIG Armed Kashmir, SSP PCR Kashmir, staff officers and officers deputed for yatra duties.
