India, Oct. 6 -- An association of private schools here on Tuesday welcomed the amendments made to relevant laws by Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that will simplify the procedure for setting up private schools in the Union Territory.

"Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools' Association welcomes the government decision to simplify and rationalise several No Objection Certificate and compliance requirements applicable to private schools. It is a historic, progressive and long-awaited regulatory reform that will provide substantial relief to educational institutions," the association said in a statement.
