Srinagar, June 24 -- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has upheld the power of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to prescribe textbooks for affiliated schools, ruling that private institutions cannot claim a right to use alternative books once they voluntarily obtain affiliation with the Board.Dismissing an appeal filed by the J&K Private Schools United Front, a Division Bench comprising Justice Sindhu Sharma and Justice Shahzad Azeem affirmed an earlier judgment by the court's Single Judge and upheld JKBOSE notifications directing private schools to adopt Board-published textbooks for Classes VI to VIII.
