J&K United Shia Council Formed to Champion Community Rights & Unity
Srinagar, May 9 -- Srinagar- A new socio-religious body, the "Jammu & Kashmir United Shia Council," was formally announced on Saturday, with its leadership stating that the organisation aims to safeguard the rights and interests of the Shia community while promoting unity, social reform and constructive engagement across Jammu and Kashmir.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Srinagar, where interim chairman Bilal Ahmad Haji described the formation of the Council as a "historic and significant step" for the community.
"This is not merely the establishment of an organisation, but the declaration of a collective vision and renewed sense of purpose," Haji said while addressing media persons.
