J&K Sees Intense Rainfall, Katra Records Highest Precipitation
Srinagar, July 21 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir witnessed intense rainfall between July 19 and 21, with Katra recording the highest cumulative precipitation in the region.
According to rainfall data, Katra received 245.6 mm of rain during the three-day period. Poonch recorded 204.5 mm, followed by Rajouri with 186.2 mm and Reasi with 184.5 mm. Udhampur also reported significant rainfall at 155.2 mm.
The heavy downpour triggered flash floods, landslides and a rise in water levels across several rivers and nallahs, particularly in the districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
