J&K Puts Final Touches To Yatra Preparations
Srinagar, June 27 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday entered the final phase of preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra, with security forces intensifying search operations along the pilgrimage route, senior officers reviewing security arrangements, and the administration appealing for public participation to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage beginning July 3.
Security forces carried out area domination and search operations across the hilly and forested areas of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, particularly in the upper reaches of Pahalgam and along the traditional yatra route. As part of the operation, security personnel searched dhoks (mud houses) inhabited by members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities.
