Srinagar, April 29 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Wednesday asked all Bar Associations across the twin Union Territories to implement 30% reservation for women advocates in their governing and executive bodies.

A circular in this regard has been issued by the Registrar General M K Sharma in compliance with an order in Deeksha N Amruthesh vs State of Karnataka, passed by the Supreme Court of India on April 16 this year.

According to the circular all Bar Associations within the jurisdiction of the High Court must ensure that at least 30% of posts in their executive committees are reserved for women advocates to guarantee adequate representation.
