Srinagar, Sept. 25 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Government will provide financial assistance to all eligible farmers affected by the hailstorm that struck parts of Srigufwara and Bijbehara during the intervening night of September 18 and 19.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary stated this while replying, on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, to a Calling Attention Motion moved by legislator Dr Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the government has put in place a mechanism to assess crop damage and provide financial assistance to eligible farmers under applicable relief and crop insurance mechanisms.
