Srinagar, July 29 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government has introduced a uniform building permission fee structure across the Union Territory to bring greater transparency and standardise charges imposed by local bodies and development authorities.

The order, issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department on Wednesday, fixes the fee for residential houses and housing colonies at Rs 80 per square metre.

For shops, offices, industries, hospitals, schools and other commercial or public buildings, the fee has been fixed at Rs 270 per square metre, while buildings with mixed residential and commercial use will attract a charge of Rs 150 per square metre.
