Srinagar, Sept. 28 -- Srinagar- Government, semi-government, commercial and industrial establishments, along with security forces installations in Jammu and Kashmir, owe over Rs.6,870 crore in unpaid electricity dues to the Power Development Department (PDD), the Legislative Assembly was informed on Monday.

The figures were provided by the government in response to a question raised by Pampore MLA Hasnain Masoodi during Question Hour.

According to the details placed before the House, government and semi-government establishments account for the largest share of the outstanding dues at Rs.3,155.69 crore.

The commercial sector owes Rs.1,833.60 crore, while industrial consumers have pending dues of Rs.1,005.89 crore. Security forces insta...
