Srinagar, Aug. 18 -- Srinagar- Authorities have directed hotels, restaurants, cafes, dhabas, sweet shops, bakeries, caterers and other food business operators to clearly disclose the type of meat used in food preparations.

In an advisory, Commissioner Food & Drugs Administration J&K, Khalid Jahangir said establishments serving meat or meat products should clearly mention whether a preparation contains mutton, beef, chicken, fish or any other type of meat.

"Such information should be displayed on menu cards, Food Safety Information Boards and display counters or menu displays, wherever applicable, and should be accurate, legible, visible and updated," Jahangir said.
