J&K Assembly- Eight-Question Cap Sparks Row
Srinagar, Aug. 12 -- Srinagar- A controversy has erupted over the question quota of MLAs in the upcoming autumn session of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, with Peoples Conference legislator Sajad Gani Lone charging the Speaker with restricting the rightful quota of legislators.
In a post on X, Lone cited the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Legislative Assembly and said that the move to reduce the number of questions sets a bad precedent and defeats the purpose of legislative oversight. He urged the Speaker to restore the quota in line with the rules.
