J&K Approves Land for Mobile Towers in 12 Underserved Areas
India, Oct. 6 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved land for the installation of mobile towers in 12 underserved areas across the Union Territory under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday.
In a post on X, Abdullah said the land has been approved in Uri, Tangmarg, Karnah, Kalakote, Kralpora, Basantgarh, Khour, Latti Marothi, Banihal, Pogal Paristan, Ramsoo and Qila Darhal.
The initiative is aimed at expanding high-speed telecommunications coverage in areas that continue to face connectivity gaps, particularly in remote and border regions.
