Srinagar, Aug. 14 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir is all set to celebrate the 80th Independence Day on Saturday, with elaborate arrangements in place across the Union Territory and heightened security measures being implemented to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations.

An official said that the civil administration and security agencies had completed preparations for the August 15 celebrations, with functions scheduled at district, sub-divisional and block levels across Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will preside over the main Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, while Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary will lead the main celebration at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.
