Srinagar, Aug. 4 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir has been declared a fully literate Union Territory under the Government of India's ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) scheme, becoming the 10th State/Union Territory in the country to achieve the milestone and the largest by population to do so.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated teachers, administrators and all stakeholders on the achievement, describing it as a significant milestone in the Union Territory's educational journey.

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said Jammu and Kashmir had joined the league of fully literate States and Union Territories under the Centre's ULLAS scheme.
