Srinagar, July 25 -- Srinagar- The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway reopened on Saturday after remaining closed for three days due to landslides, shooting stones and incessant rainfall, with authorities issuing a detailed traffic plan and advising commuters to avoid night travel.

The Traffic Police said only stranded and local vehicles were allowed to move after restoration work on Thursday, while regular traffic would resume in a regulated manner on Saturday, subject to fair weather and road conditions.

Officials said light motor vehicles (LMVs), passenger vehicles and private cars would be allowed to ply from both Jammu and Srinagar, while heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and load carriers would operate on alternate days.
