India, Oct. 28 -- PDP leader Iltija Mufti on Wednesday alleged that eligible students in Kashmir were being denied Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) certificates on frivolous grounds and urged affected applicants to share details of their cases.

In a post on X, Mufti described the alleged denial as a "merit massacre" and criticised the National Conference-led government over its handling of the issue.

She appealed to students whose EWS certificate applications had been rejected to contact her and provide details of their cases.

This is the second time this month that the PDP leader has criticised the NC-led government over issues concerning students and recruitment policies.
