Srinagar, July 22 -- Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday strongly condemned the killing of a policeman in a terrorist attack in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, asserting that the "heinous act" would not go unpunished.

Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, posted with the IRP 3rd Battalion and deployed on Amarnath Yatra security duty, was shot dead by a terrorist near Lal Chowk in Anantnag around 12.30 pm.

In a post on X, Sinha described the attack as cowardly and said security forces were actively pursuing those responsible.
