Srinagar, Sept. 16 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has sought a response from the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, on concerns raised over the proposed industrialisation of a flood-sensitive area in Nowgam, with the Environmental Policy Group (EPG) urging protection of the flood-absorption basin.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Pushpendra Singh Bhatti and Justice Rajnesh Oswal took note of an affidavit filed by EPG on August 27, 2026, during proceedings in PIL No. 8/2017 and connected matters relating to flood-related issues in Kashmir.
