HC Pulls Up J&K Govt Over Delay In Wetland Conservation Plans
Srinagar, Aug. 19 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has pulled up the Jammu and Kashmir Government over its failure to respond for nearly a year to the Centre's communication on conservation plans for three wetland reserves.
While hearing a Public Interest Litigation concerning environmental protection, a Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani also sought an explanation for excluding other Ramsar Sites from the management planning process.
The Court passed the directions after being informed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change that the J&K Government had, on August 25, 2025, submitted Integrated Management Plans (IMPs) prepared under the Centrally Spons...
