Srinagar, Sept. 18 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has imposed costs of Rs 10,000 on a petitioner for failing to disclose the pendency of a recovery suit involving substantially the same claim before the Commercial Court here.

A bench of Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal dismissed the plea filed by one Nazir Ahmad Mir, proprietor of M/s Mir Electricals who had approached the Court seeking payment of an alleged outstanding amount along with 12 per cent interest. However, the respondents (authorities) pointed out that he had already instituted a recovery suit before the Additional District Judge, Bank Cases, designated as Commercial Court Srinagar, seeking recovery of Rs 24,06,722, along with interest and other reliefs.
