Srinagar, May 23 -- Srinagar- Efforts are underway to widen the busy Hawal Chowk junction in Srinagar's old city to ease chronic traffic congestion, with MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq stating that authorities are in talks with several families whose properties fall within the proposed road expansion plan.

Speaking to Kashmir Observer, Sadiq said the widening of Hawal Chowk has become a necessity due to the severe traffic bottlenecks witnessed daily at the junction, which serves as a key link for several densely populated localities.
