Srinagar, April 30 -- New Delhi- The airfare for Haj 2026 has been increased by Rs.10,000 per pilgrim, with the Haj Committee of India attributing the hike to a sharp rise in global Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices triggered by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
The increase, approved by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has sparked criticism from opposition leaders, who termed the move unfair and poorly timed.
According to a circular issued by the Haj Committee of India, pilgrims will have to pay an additional USD 100 (approximately Rs.10,000) irrespective of their embarkation point.
