Srinagar, June 23 -- Srinagar- The Srinagar district administration on Monday granted permission for the traditional 8th Muharram procession to be taken out on June 24 along its historic route from Guru Bazar to Dalgate, but imposed a strict timeline requiring mourners to complete the nearly three-kilometre main stretch in about two-and-a-half hours.

The permission was accorded by District Magistrate Srinagar in favour of the Yaadgari Hussaini Committee, Kalloo Manzil Mohalla, Guru Bazar, following recommendations from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar.

According to the official order, the procession will commence at 6:00 am from Guru Bazar, cross Jehangir Chowk by 7:00 am, and reach the J&K Bank Headquarters area on M.A. Ro...
