Srinagar, June 2 -- Srinagar- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday called for positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a premier golfing destination on the global tourism map while chairing the ninth Governing Body meeting of the Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) at SKICC.

The meeting reviewed the functioning, finances, infrastructure and future development plans of the prestigious golf course.

Emphasising the potential of golf tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, Omar directed the Royal Springs Golf Course management to formulate a strategy for attracting more national and international tournaments and strengthening promotional efforts to enhance the region's profile among golfing enthusiasts.
