Srinagar, Sept. 17 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has issued notice to authorities on a petition filed by Professor Dr. Kamal-ud-Din Farooqui, who has challenged his removal from the duties of Imam-o-Khateeb at Aasar-i-Shareef Dargah Hazratbal here.

A bench of Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani also directed the authorities to consider a representation submitted by Farooqui against his removal.

In his petition, Farooqui has challenged the 8 April 2024 order issued by the Executive Magistrate (Tehsildar), J&K Waqf Board, whereby he was relieved from his duties as Imam-o-Khateeb pending an enquiry or until further orders.
