Srinagar, Sept. 24 -- Srinagar- The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), J&K, has intensified food safety inspections at canteens, messes and other food establishments in universities, medical and engineering colleges, hospitals, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Gujjar-Bakerwal hostels across the Union Territory.

During the special drive, 108 premises were inspected and 62 food samples collected for testing at NABL-accredited laboratories, officials said.

The inspections covered FSSAI registration and licensing, hygiene and sanitation, medical fitness of food handlers, potable water, food storage and handling, pest control, waste management and use of food-grade materials.
