Srinagar, Aug. 25 -- Srinagar- Srinagar Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Tuesday said he would respond in the coming days to party president Dr Farooq Abdullah's call for his resignation from the Lok Sabha, while maintaining that he holds the veteran leader in high regard.

Talking to reporters, Ruhullah said he respected Farooq Abdullah and indicated that he would not ignore a request from the senior NC leader.

"It is not possible that he asks me for something and I don't give it to him. It is not possible that I send him back empty-handed," Ruhullah said.

His remarks came a day after Farooq Abdullah challenged him to resign as a Lok Sabha member and seek a fresh mandate from the people.
