Srinagar, June 20 -- Srinagar- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir on Saturday said it has filed a chargesheet against a Kanpur-based man in a telecom project fraud case.

Officials said the investigation found that the accused allegedly duped a complainant by promising a US-based telecom call project and fraudulently obtained money through false assurances.

In a statement, a spokesperson said the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir, of Crime Branch J&K has produced a chargesheet in FIR No. 44/2023 under Section 420 IPC before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sopore, against Harkeet Singh S/o Guru Mohan Singh R/o Kali Mata Mandir, Lal Bangla, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
