Srinagar, Sept. 14 -- Srinagar- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K has filed a chargesheet against a Kupwara man accused of cheating people by promising government jobs through forged appointment orders.

According to an EOW spokesperson, the chargesheet was filed before the Court of Forest Magistrate, Srinagar, in FIR No. 12/2026 under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC against Abdul Majeed Mir, son of Abdul Rahim Mir, a resident of Lishtiyal, Kalaroos, Kupwara.

The case was registered on the basis of a complaint alleging that Mir had taken lakhs of rupees on the promise of securing a government job for the complainant's son.
