Srinagar, July 7 -- Srinagar- Ahead of its protest programme on statehood in New Delhi, the ruling National Conference on Tuesday reached out to the civil society of Kashmir.

To seek suggestions from different sections of civil society ahead of the protest programme on statehood, NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over a meeting convened by the party with people from different sections of society.

"More than 150 representatives from various sections of J&K civil society convened today, July 7, 2026, at SKICC, Srinagar, in a meeting presided over by JKNC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah and VP & Hon'ble Chief Minister @Omar Abdullah," the NC said in a post on its X handle.
