Srinagar, July 4 -- Srinagar- The Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Srinagar, has directed all government and private schools to install CCTV cameras in school buses, constitute child protection committees and ensure mandatory training of staff on child protection laws.

In a circular issued on Saturday, the CWC said the measures were aimed at ensuring a safe, secure and child-friendly environment in educational institutions.

The Committee, which functions as a Bench of the First Class Judicial Magistrate under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, directed that all teaching, non-teaching and support staff, including transport personnel, undergo periodic training on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences...
