Srinagar, Sept. 28 -- Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday introduced six bills in the Legislative Assembly during the ongoing Autumn Session, proposing changes to laws governing ease of doing business, taxation, salaries and pensions of ministers and legislators, and the rationalisation of certain offences.

Omar, who also holds the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs portfolio, introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026, designated as L.A. Bill No. 11 of 2026.

The proposed legislation seeks to replace permission-based control with rule-based governance and promote ease of doing business and ease of living in the Union Territory. It aims to enable citizens and enterprises to plan,...
